Here is a simply, fun and natural treat for you and your children to make together. Kids love to sample their own cooking and share it with their friends.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup brown rice syrup
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup peanut butter
3 cups natural crispy brown rice cereal
1/2 cup malt-sweetened non-dairy chocolate chips
Pinch sea salt

Makes: 16-20 squares

You will need: Medium pan, wooden spoon, square dish with sides, measuring cup, knife, serving dish

How to Make Them:

Place the rice syrup, maple syrup, sea salt and peanut butter in a pan. Heat on a low flame and stir until creamy. Add the chocolate chips and stir until melted.

Remove from the heat. Add the rice crispies and mix until coated. Lightly oil the square pan with a little corn oil. Press the rice crispy mixture into the pan.

Set aside to cool and firm. Cut into squares and serve. You can decorate the plate with fall leaves and flowers.

You can use other nut butters instead of the peanut butter. Try almond or hazelnut for a nutty treat. Leave out the chocolate chips and nut butter - add 1/2 cup of raisins and 1/2 cup peanuts and enjoy the crunch.
